>Cavs Celtics Game 1 – In Game Summary

>

Currently the Cavaliers are facing off against the Boston Celtics in the Q.  Usually I’ll write up a post game summary, but due to some scheduling conflicts we’ll do an “in progress” summary instead.  Well I don’t know what to say, and I’m sure all you feel the same way.  The Cavaliers look like they are all playing at 80%.  It seems as though they are purposely lulling the Celtics into a state of sleep and will explode come the fourth quarter.  Is this Mike Brown’s strategy?  Play so slow, so boring that the Celtics literately fall asleep due to lack of excitement, and then explode for 35 points in the 4th to win the game?

Lots of things are wrong tonight, starting with the score which currently sits at 69-58 at the 5:32 spot in the third.  Wow Mo Williams just DUNKED!!!! Sorry, when something like that happens, you  have to just stop what you are doing and change the subject.  Anyways, Rajon Rondo is having his way just like I predicted in our series preview earlier in the week.  He currently has 24 points on 10 assists and at the start of the third was responsible for 35 of the Celtics points.  Like all other games this season, the quick point guard is dominating the Cavaliers, and will be the difference in this game.  Kevin Garnett is having a great game with 16 points and 8 boards, with his length and shooting ability I see Jamison having his hand full for the remainder of this game and the series.
When Shaq has been in the game, the Cavaliers are playing Boston’s game.  They slow it down, and grind it out.  Boston is old and slow, minus Rondo, and the higher tempo gets under the Celtics skin and forces them out of their comfort zone creating turnovers and low percentage shots.  I would like to see Shaq on the bench for this series and play more of Hickson, who stormed in the game and scored 7 quick points.
Lebron James is having a quiet night, he seems hesitant to take shots, and even was a bit careful on a wide open dunk.  James has 21 points, which for any other player, would be an excellent stat.
As I’ve written this, the Cavaliers now lead 79-78 at the end of the fourth quarter.  Heading into “Lebron Time” they need to lock down on Rondo, irritate Garnett, and make Wallace start opening his big mouth and get T’d up.
Here’s to a solid 4th…….we’ll see what happens.
